On 15th May 2025, the Republic of Kenya and the Federative Republic of Brazil convened to hold the Fifth (5th) Session of the Political Consultations. This was organized on the occasion of the Official Visit by H.E. Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs to Brazil.
The Political Consultations were undertaken at the technocrat level led by the co-chairs of the respective nations namely; Amb. Lucy Kiruthu, Ag. Director General of Political and Diplomatic Affairs of the State Department of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Kenya and Amb. Carlos Sérgio Sobral Duarte, Secretary for Africa and the Middle East, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Federative Republic of Brazil. Also present was Amb. Peris Kariuki, Deputy Head of Mission of the Kenya Embassy Brasilia and other staff from the State Department of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy.
The discussions encompassed key areas that were earmarked for the deepening of the bilateral relations between Kenya and Brazil. Among them were political affairs, agriculture, fisheries, trade, investments, education, health, culture, sports, ICT, among other socio-economic matters.
