The Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Brazil welcomed Ms. Ana Carolina Medeiros, President of ABAV Nacional, for a bilateral discussion to explore various opportunities to strengthen Kenya-Brazil tourism relations.

Some of the key areas discussed during the meeting included:

• Kenya’s participation in the ABAV Expo 2025 in Rio de Janeiro, to be held from 8^th to 10^th October, 2025.
• Partnerships with the Kenya Association of Tour Operators (KATO) to enhance tourism flows between the two countries.
• Familiarization Tours (Fam Trips) to provide Brazilian tour operators with firsthand experience of Kenya’s attractions.
• Capacity Building initiatives to promote skills exchange and training for tourism sector professionals.

The two sides also acknowledged the significance of the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tourism Cooperation, dated May 16, 2025, which serves as a framework for deeper sectoral engagement.

Furthermore, the Embassy emphasized the upcoming Magical Kenya Travel Expo (MKTE) 2025, scheduled for 1^st to 3^rd October, in Nairobi, which will feature the participation of several Brazilian tour operators.

These engagements underscore Kenya’s commitment to advancing tourism promotion in Brazil while strengthening bilateral cooperation in the travel and hospitality industries.
