The Embassy led by H.E Ambassador Dr. Andrew Karanja held a meeting with Ambassador Antonio Augusto Martins César, the Director of Africa Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil; Mr. Paulo Pan, Senior Business Advisor for Africa of Beyond Africa Group and Mr. Carlos Picasso, Executive Director of Biocure Biotechnology.
The discussions focused on the possibilities of cooperation towards strengthening the Kenya-Brazil bilateral health relations through the forging of strategic partnerships amongst the government and private sector players in advancing health solutions and scaling innovations.
Notably, Biocure Biotechnology of Brazil expressed that they were looking forward to invest in Kenya’s pharmaceutical, biomedical and cosmetic sub-sectors while using science and biodiversity to improve human and animal health.
The Embassy encouraged this strategic proposal and shared information on the incentives available in the Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and the Export Processing Zones (EPZs).
It was informed that Biocure Biotechnology are planning to undertake a Business Mission to Kenya to understand the Kenyan health sector and meet the key stakeholders for possible partnership collaborations.
