The Embassy led by H.E Ambassador Dr. Andrew Karanja spearheaded the convening of a meeting between the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) and the Association of Commercial, Industrial and Services of the State of Goiás (ACIEG) of Brazil on 15th July 2025.
The meeting discussed the existing opportunities that could be tapped into via the proposed partnership between the two institutions towards driving internationalization of the private sector members from both nations into the global value chains system and export markets. Additionally, it was informed that the collaboration framework would consider cooperation and investments across key economic sectors of interest inter alia Agribusiness, Green Energy, Tourism, Digital Technology and Constuction.
The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) was represented by the Ag. CEO Mr. K. K. Mutai while the Association of Commercial, Industrial and Services of the State of Goiás (ACIEG) was represented by the Vice President of ACIEG Foreign Trade Chamber, Ms. Ana Bastos. There was also representation from key governmental institutions namely the State Department for Trade and the State Department for Foreign Affairs.
The Embassy is currently working towards mobilizing the Kenyan government and private sector officials to take part in the upcoming Inbound Mission to Brazil under the auspices of the Central Brazil International Foreign Trade Fair (FICOMEX 2025) that is scheduled to take place from 4th to 6th September 2025 in Goiânia, State of Goiás, Brazil as organized by ACIEG.
