Meeting to discuss partnership opportunities between the Association of Supermarkets of the State of São Paulo (APAS) and the Retail Trade Association of Kenya (RETRAK) towards increased trade between Kenya and Brazil.

The Embassy convened a virtual meeting that brought together the Association of Supermarkets of the State of São Paulo (APAS), the Retail Trade Association of Kenya (RETRAK) and the Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency (KEPROBA) to discuss the possibilities of increasing Kenyan exports to Brazil through a cooperative partnership between APAS and RETRAK.

The meeting discussed the possibilities of retail market expansion and collaboration through direct sourcing facilitating connections between buyers and suppliers of high quality export products such as coffee, tea, clothing, footwear and macadamia nuts among other products.

Present at the meeting were Ms. Wambui Mbarire, the Chief Executive Officer of the Retail Trade Association of Kenya (RETRAK), Ms. Gabriela Meucci, International Relations and Strategic Partnerships, Association of Supermarkets of the State of São Paulo (APAS), Mr. Samwel Rere from Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency (KEPROBA) and Representatives from the State Department for Foreign Affairs as well as the Embassy.

It is envisaged that following a series of future engagements and participation in upcoming shows by APAS in Brazil, Kenyan producers will be able to showcase their merchandise, network with potential Brazilian buyers and establish themselves as key suppliers, meeting the demands and trends of the Brazilian consumer market.
