Kenya and Brazil sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tourism Cooperation to promote tourism between the two nations

H.E. Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Cabinet Secretary (PCS) and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Kenya together with Ms. Ana Carla Lopes, Executive Secretary for Tourism representing the Minister of Tourism of the Federative Republic of Brazil signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tourism Cooperation on 16th May 2025 in Brasilia, Brazil.

This took place during the bilateral meeting between the PCS and Ambassador Mauro Viera, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federative Republic of Brazil on the occasion of the PCS’s Official Visit to Brazil.

Notably, Brazilian tourists arrivals to Kenya saw a 27% increase between 2023 and 2024, rising from 3,260 to 4,145 visitors. It is envisioned that this initiative will enhance more projects and programs in the promotion of tourists across the two nations aimed at reinforcing historical, cultural, socio-economic opportunities and people-to-people connections.
