On 24th May 2025, Rt Hon. Dr. Moses Wetangula, EGH, Speaker of the National Assembly led the Kenyan delegation to hold bilateral discussions with Dr. Adriano Carneiro, Executive Secretary of the Parliamentary Front for Strengthening Relations between Brazil, Latin America and Africa on Parliamentary Diplomacy between Kenya and Brazil.
This was on the side-lines of the Speaker’s Official Visit to Brazil during the occasion of the 2nd Brazil-Africa Dialogue on Food Security, Hunger and Rural Development that was organized by the Brazilian Government in Brasilia.
Also present at the bilateral meeting were Hon. Zaheer Jhanda, MP; Amb. Dr. Andrew Karanja, Head of Mission, Kenya Embassy Brasilia; Amb. Peris Kariuki, Deputy Head of Mission, Kenya Embassy Brasilia and Mr. Rui Mucaje, President of the Afro-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (AfroChamber).
It was agreed that there was need to advance the shared goals in legislative collaboration, knowledge sharing as well as in socio-economic areas including food security, agricultural innovation and rural transformation.
