Kenya and Brazil sign a Landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Crops and Livestock Development

H.E. Amb. Dr. Andrew Karanja together with Mr. Carlos Favaro, the Brazilian Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply (MAPA) signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Crops and Livestock Development between Kenya and Brazil. This took place on the sidelines of the 2nd Brazil-Africa Dialogue on Food Security, Fight Against Hunger and Rural Development that was held from 20th to 22nd May 2025 in Brasilia, Brazil.

The signing of the MoU marks formal collaboration on agricultural matters with the instrument of cooperation outlining key areas that will guide the framework for implementing projects and programs in crops and livestock development.

Key highlights are that Brazil and Kenya will establish linkages in animal genetics, breeding and in the production of animal vaccines among other broader areas.
