Second (2nd) Virtual Technical Cooperation Meeting betweenthe Brazilian Zebu Breeders Association (ABCZ) and key Kenyan Stakeholders in the Livestock Sector

On 2nd December 2025 the Embassy led by Amb. Peris Kariuki, Deputy Head of Mission, convened the Second (2nd) Virtual Technical Cooperation Meeting between the Brazilian Zebu Breeders Association (ABCZ) and key Kenyan stakeholders in the livestock sector to advance discussions on the establishment of the proposed Kenya-Brazil Joint Cattle Project.

Kenyan delegation comprised representatives from both the public and private sectors, notably the State Department for Foreign Affairs, State Department for Livestock, Department of Veterinary Services (DVS), Kenya Agriculture and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO), Agricultural Development Corporation (ADC), Kenya Animal Genetics Resource Centre (KAGRC), Agriculture Sector Network (ASNET), and the Agriculture Society of Kenya.

The Brazilian delegation was led by Ms. Raquel Borges, International Department Supervisor at the Brazilian Zebu Breeders Association (ABCZ) and comprised ABCZ members as well as experts from the Pasture Seeds and Animal Nutrition segment including MATSUDA, SOESP Seed, AGROSOL Seeds and WOLF Seeds.

The discussions focused on the institutional presentations by ABCZ experts and the proposed areas of cooperation across the four key thematic pillars of the project. The meeting further explored ABCZ’s proposal to undertake a Business Missions to Kenya, as well as the participation by Kenyan stakeholders in the upcoming EXPOZEBU in Brazil. These exchanges are aimed at strengthening bilateral linkages in line with the aspirations and principles of the multilateral South-South Cooperation.
