Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs’s official address to the Group of African Heads of Mission in Brasilia during his Official Visit to Brazil

H.E Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Cabinet Secretary (PCS) and Cabinet Secretary of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs during his Official Visit to Brazil was invited as the key note speaker to give an official address to the Group of African Heads of Mission in Brasilia on 15th May 2025.

H.E the Prime Cabinet Secretary was accompanied by Ambassador Dr. Andrew Karanja, the Head of Mission of the Kenya Embassy Brasilia where they were officially welcomed by Ambassador Martin Mbeng, Dean of the Group of African Heads of Mission in Brasilia.

While addressing the Group of 35 distinguished African Ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps, the PCS made a presentation on the African Union (AU) Institutional Reforms and Reforms to the International Financial Architecture.

Key highlights from the remarks made were that it was imperative to realize such reforms that are geared towards fundamentally repositioning the African Union to meet the evolving needs of it’s Member States while implementing the strategic objectives of the AU Agenda 2063.

The Call to Action made was that it was necessary for the African Embassies in Brasilia to engage with the Brazilian Government, key institutions, regional blocs and development partners among other important stakeholders. These interactions would be aimed at deepening the South-South Cooperation whilst using their collective diplomatic weight in supporting an inclusive and resilient multilateral systsem that will pave way for the global agenda in financial reforms among other relevant aspirations by the African Union.
