Meeting with Planner on Investing in Kenya’s Agricultural and Financial Sector

H.E Ambassador Dr. Andrew Karanja led the Embassy in a crucial meeting with Mr. Renato Solano, Head of International Desk of Planner on 4th June 2025 in São Paulo to discuss the possibility of Planner investing in Kenya’s Agricultural and Financial Sector.

Planner is a financial investment company in Brazil that has ventured into funding agricultural projects that tackle the challenges of global hunger. Notably, Planner also expressed great interest in pursuing the initiative in various African countries including Kenya’s Agricultural Sector through its Flagship Project dubbed “Global Food Security Fund I”.

It was agreed that Planner would undertake a Business Mission to Kenya in the second half of the year to be able to meet key public and private sector players aimed at identifying the niche investment gap in order to deploy the funds towards viable agricultural projects that would address the challenges of food security.

Also present at the meeting were Mr. Paulo Pan, Senior Business Advisor for Africa Global Food Security Fund and Mr. Rui Mucaje, President, Afro-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (AfroChamber).
