The Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Brasilia led by H.E Ambassador Dr. Andrew Karanja facilitated the convening of a Strategic Bilateral Meeting between the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency (KEPROBA), Ms. Floice Mukabana and the President of the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), Mr. Laudemir André Müller.
The meeting was convened with the objective of deepening partnerships between Kenya and Brazil through enhanced trade, diversification of exports, promotion of investments, and strengthened technical cooperation across key economic sectors, including agribusiness, technology transfer, innovation, and knowledge exchange.
In his remarks, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Andrew Karanja congratulated Mr. Laudemir André Müller on his appointment as President of ApexBrasil and wished him success in advancing Brazil’s global trade and investment agenda. He further acknowledged the strong and growing partnership between Kenya and Brazil, which has been marked by several outbound missions to Kenya, including the most recent mission held in February 2026 where over sixty (60) Brazilian delegates visited Nairobi and participated in the Kenya–Brazil Economic Cooperation Seminar.
The CEO of KEPROBA appreciated ApexBrasil’s continued commitment towards strengthening bilateral relations with Kenya, noting that the partnership would be further cemented through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions. The MoU aims to facilitate stronger linkages between entrepreneurs, exporters, and international buyers, while enhancing strategic value chains through the incorporation of technological advancements and market development initiatives.
The President of ApexBrasil reaffirmed Brazil’s commitment to elevating economic cooperation with Kenya by promoting the active participation of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in international trade, facilitating business linkages, and sharing experiences from Brazil’s flagship export promotion initiative, “Exporta Mais.”
It was agreed that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between KEPROBA and ApexBrasil would be officially signed during the Brazil–Africa Seminar 2026, marking a significant milestone towards institutionalizing cooperation and advancing sustainable trade and investment partnerships between Kenya and Brazil.
