His Excellency Amb. (Dr.) Andrew Karanja, Head of Mission, received His Excellency Amb. Kjetil Elsebutangen, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to the Federative Republic of Brazil, for a courtesy call.
H.E. Amb. Dr. Karanja extended his congratulations to Ambassador Elsebutangen on the successful presentation of his Letters of Credence to the Government of the Federative Republic of Brazil and conveyed best wishes for a productive and impactful tenure.
The meeting reaffirmed the longstanding and cordial relations between Kenya and the Kingdom of Norway, underpinned by shared values, high-level official exchanges, and strong cooperation across multilateral and development platforms.
Discussions centered on areas of mutual interest, including climate change and energy transition, multilateral reforms, peacebuilding and reconciliation initiatives in Africa and Latin America, and the expansion of trade and economic partnerships.
Both Ambassadors underscored the urgency of advancing equitable climate financing and mobilizing resources to support sustainable development. They reiterated the critical role of Brazil as a global champion in climate action, sustainable agriculture, and environmental stewardship.
The meeting underscored the importance of strengthening collaboration among partners from Africa, Latin America, and Europe to address global challenges through inclusive and sustainable solutions.
