The Embassy led by Amb. Peris Kariuki, Deputy Head of Mission, convened a virtual meeting on 23rd January 2026 between the Government of the Republic of Kenya and the Government of the Federative Republic of Brazil to advance discussions of the Draft Investment Cooperation and Facilitation Investment Agreement (CFIA).
The Kenyan side was led by Mr. Ronald Inyangala, Director Financial and Sectoral Affairs Department at The National Treasury and comprised representatives from the National Treasury, the State Department for Foreign Affairs, State Department for Investment Promotion, State Department for Trade, Kenya Investment Authority and the Office of the Attorney General. The Brazilian side was led by Amb. Alexandre Ghisleni, Director of Trade in Services, Economic and Financial Policy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil.
The meeting facilitated substantive engagements aimed at deepening the Kenya-Brazil bilateral economic cooperation in line with the aspirations of the South-South multilateral cooperation framework.
It is envisaged that the conclusion of the instrument of cooperation will establish a predictable, transparent, and mutually beneficial framework to promote and facilitate investments while strengthening investor confidence.
