On 20th May 2026, Mr. Rui Mucaje, President of the Afro-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (AfroChamber) received a delegation of eight (8) Kenyan Government Officials in São Paulo, Brazil, for discussions aimed at strengthening Kenya–Brazil trade and commercial cooperation.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency (KEPROBA), underscored the importance of developing strategic collaborations with Brazilian partners focused on deepening market research, enhancing understanding of Brazil’s regulatory environment, analysing competitor dynamics, and promoting value addition in production processes to enhance the competitiveness of Kenyan exports.
The Kenyan delegation was in Brazil for a series of Economic and Commercial Diplomacy engagements, including participation in the APAS Show held from 18th to 21st May 2026.
Mr. Patrick Mukuria appreciated the continued support provided by AfroChamber in advancing Kenya’s national development agenda and trade interests in Brazil through strategic market insights and facilitation of participation in major trade platforms such as the APAS Show International Trade Fair.
AfroChamber has played a significant role in supporting Kenya’s commercial engagement with Brazil through close collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Brasilia. The Chamber has been instrumental in facilitating inbound and outbound trade missions, coordinating meetings for visiting Kenyan dignitaries and business executives, and developing linkages with relevant Brazilian stakeholders and institutions.
The engagements reaffirmed the shared commitment to strengthening cooperation between Kenya and AfroChamber, particularly in promoting Kenyan exports to Brazil including speciality teas, roasted coffee, macadamia nuts, leather products, textiles and apparel, among other high-potential products.
