The APAS Show is one of the largest food and beverage trade events in the Americas and ranks among the world’s leading supermarket trade fairs. The event is organized by Association of Supermarkets of the State of São Paulo (APAS), an organization representing more than 1,500 establishments across the State of São Paulo.

Other key authorities present at the ceremony included the Governor of the State of São Paulo, the President of the Legislative Assembly of the State of São Paulo, the Mayor of São Paulo, and senior leadership from major business associations and institutions, including ABRAS, FIESP, FeComercioSP, and SENAR. Discussions highlighted the importance of promoting a conducive business environment, including through the reduction of taxes and enhancement of trade facilitation measures. Emphasis was also placed on the critical role supermarkets play in driving economic growth, creating employment opportunities, facilitating international trade, and ensuring consumers have access to a wide range of products.

The Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Brasília has played a key role in facilitating Kenya’s inaugural participation at the international trade fair. The participation aims to enhance understanding of the Brazilian market, including consumer preferences, market trends, and business operations, while fostering strategic partnerships and market linkages to support increased Kenyan exports to Brazil.
