Kenya Explores End-to-End Livestock Value Chain Partnerships with Brazil at 91st Expo Zebu in Uberaba, Minas Gerais State, Brazil

On 25th April 2026, Hon. Jonathan Mueke, Principal Secretary, State Department for Livestock Development, led a delegation of Kenyan participants from both public and private sector to take part in the 91st Edition of Expo Zebu in Uberaba, Minas Gerais State. The engagement formed part of a broader Livestock Mission to Brazil aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in the livestock sector.

On the sidelines of the exhibition, the delegation held a bilateral meeting with Mr. Silvio Neto, CEO of AgroExport Brazil. AgroExport is a Brazilian agribusiness company headquartered in Uberaba, a region globally recognized for its leadership in livestock production and agricultural innovation. The company operates in the international agro-export sector, specializing in the trade of live cattle, bovine genetics.including semen and embryos and a wide range of agricultural products and services. With decades of experience, AgroExport expressed strong interest in partnering with Kenyan institutions to advance livestock development.

Discussions covered end-to-end livestock value chain projects: feedlots, genetics, value addition, trade and logistics. These engagements reflect Kenya’s strategic interest in leveraging Brazil’s expertise to enhance productivity, competitiveness, and market access within its livestock sector.

The Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Brasília has played a key role in facilitating the Livestock Mission and coordinated the bilateral meeting with AgroExport, underscoring its commitment to advancing economic diplomacy and fostering mutually beneficial partnerships between Kenya and Brazil.
