On 23rd April 2026, the Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service of the Republic of Kenya, Mr. Felix K. Koskei, EGH, accompanied by Dr. Paul Ronoh, Principal Secretary for the State Department of Agriculture and Mr Alex Kamau Wachira, CBS, Principal Secretary for the State Department for Energy led a delegation of Kenyan officials to undertake a courtesy visit to the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Brasilia Chancery.
The visit took place on the sidelines of the delegation’s participation in the Eastern and Southern African Management Institute (ESAMI) Learning Journey for Heads of Public Service.
At the Chancery, the delegation was received by H.E Ambassador Dr. Andrew Karanja, Head of Mission and who highlighted the significant milestone and ongoing diplomatic relations between Kenya and Brazil across several key sectors including Agriculture and Food Security; Green Energy and Climate Action; Foreign Trade and Investments; Livestock Development; Aviation and Logistics; Tourism; Sports; Education and Political Diplomacy among other key issues.
In his remarks, the Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service commended the Embassy’s efforts in advancing Kenya’s strategic interests in Brazil. He emphasized the need to strengthen bilateral cooperation in Governance and Public Service administration. He further underscored the importance of ensuring effective implementation of signed agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), while also exploring new frontiers of collaboration, particularly in the Blue Economy and Mining sectors.
The Principal Secretary for Agriculture highlighted that it was imperative to push for the increased exports of value added Kenyan tea and coffee to Brazil, while leveraging Brazil’s advanced technologies, particularly in mechanization.
The Principal Secretary for Energy reinforced the significance of attracting Brazilian technologies, partnership and investments in Kenya, especially in the areas of bioethanol, biofuels and sustainable aviation fuels as part of the nation’s aspirations on green energy transition.
