Visit to the Association of Supermarkets of the State of São Paulo (APAS) and Strategic Discussions to Promote Commercial Cooperation within the State of São Paulo

H.E Ambassador Dr. Andrew Karanja led the Embassy during a visit to the Association of Supermarkets in São Paulo (APAS) on 4th June 2025 at the APAS Institutional Headquarters to discuss the agenda of strategic commercial and economic cooperation with the State of São Paulo.

Also present at the meeting were Gabriela Meucci, International Relations and Strategic Partnerships, Association of Supermarkets of the State of São Paulo; Mr. Gulherme Rezende, Institutional Relations Coordinator, Association of Supermarkets of the State of São Paulo; Mr. ⁠Rui Mucaje, President, Afro-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (AfroChamber); Ms. Nara Pires, Director of Communications and Trade Intelligence, Afro-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (AfroChamber) and Ms. Beatrice Kinyua, Commercial Attaché of the Kenya Embassy Brasilia.

Key issues discussed were on the possibilities to explore the opportunities for Kenyan products including tea to access Brazil’s retail markets through the APAS channel.

There was an affirmation of strong interest in Kenya’s export potential to Brazil to supply premium and new quality products, leveraging the Brazilian market’s need for innovation and new suppliers.
