Leveraging Insights from the 31st Agrishow International Fair in Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo State, Brazil to Transform Kenya’s Agriculture and Livestock Value Chains

The Embassy led by H.E Ambassador Dr. Andrew Karanja welcomed the Kenyan delegation of 22 participants drawn from both public and private sectors, headed by Hon. Jonathan Mueke, Principal Secretary, State Department for Livestock Development to the 31st Agrishow International Fair in Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo, Brazil. The delegation was in Brazil as part of the Livestock Trade Mission that took place from 20th to 30th April 2026 as organized by the Brazilian Zebu Breeder’s Association (ABCZ).

A bilateral meeting between the two principals provided an opportunity to review of key outcomes and opportunities identified during the Livestock Trade Mission, including engagements at the 91st ExpoZebu and the 31st Agrishow. Discussions focused on strategies to accelerate partnerships between Kenya and Brazil at enhancing productivity, promotingvalue addition and advancing commercialization of agricultural products into global markets.

The Kenyan delegation expressed appreciation for the Embassy’s proactive efforts in identifying strategic missions and facilitating linkages with relevant stakeholders. The Embassy reaffirmed its commitment to supporting follow-up actions arising from the discussions, with a view to advancing Kenya’s national development priorities as outlined in the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
