His Excellency Prof. Kithure Kindiki, EGH, represented Kenya at the 30th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 30), held in Belém, Brazil, from November 6-7, 2025.

His Excellency the Deputy President’s attendance at the high-level segment showcased Kenya’s strong commitment to multilateral climate action and sustainable development.

During the summit, the Deputy President delivered Kenya’s national message on climate ambition, resilience, and green growth.

He highlighted the country’s leadership in renewable energy, climate-smart agriculture, and ecosystem restoration, along with the government’s efforts to mobilize innovative finance for climate adaptation and mitigation.

Kenya reaffirmed its support for a fair and inclusive energy transition for Africa, emphasizing the importance of stronger international cooperation, equitable access to climate finance, and technology transfer to developing countries.

On the sidelines of the summit, the Deputy President engaged in discussions to explore partnerships aligned with Kenya’s Vision 2030, the outcomes of the Africa Climate Summit, and the goals of the Paris Agreement.

Kenya’s participation at COP 30 strengthens its role as a leading voice for Africa in climate diplomacy, promoting practical, action-oriented solutions that balance environmental protection with economic and social development.
