EMBASSY PROMOTES CULTURAL DIPLOMACY IN BRAZIL

The Mission was involved in the following cultural diplomacy activities which showcased Kenya´s rich culture and helped in promoting Kenya´s image.

A. Bahia Carnival Honours Kenya

During the Carnival in the State of Bahia, Kenya was honoured by the Ile Aiye Cultural Group which is a famous carnival block from Bahia, known for its Afro-Brazilian music and focus on black culture. The Group used the theme“ Kenya: Cradle of Humanity ” to tell the story, culture and struggle of the Kenyan people through music, dance and costumes. B. Embassy participated at the British School of Brasilia’s International Day event.

On 22nd March 2025, the British School of Brasilia held a celebration of cultural diversity and the Embassy was represented at the school by several officers and students who attended. There was a display of the rich cultures from Africa, Asia, South America and Europe in the form of food, dance, music and fashion.

C. Embassy at the Bridges Church African Luncheon

The Bridges International Church hosted a lunch for Africans on Sunday 23rd March 2025 to celebrate the rich African cuisine. The Embassy and the Kenyan Diaspora in Brasilia were represented and they presented a variety of Kenyan dishes such as samosa, chapati, biryani and ugali.
