Embassy participated as one of the key Guests during the Official Opening Ceremony of the Smart City Business Congres in São Paulo, Brazil.

The Embassy led by H.E Ambassador Dr. Andrew Karanja participated in the Opening Ceremony of the Smart City Business Congress Event that took place on 3rd June 2025 at the Expo Cente Norte in São Paulo, Brazil.

The Mission was one out of two Embassies that actively participated in the Official Opening Ceremony that was officiated by Mr. Felicio Ramuth, Vice-Governor of the State of São Paulo.

The Smart City Business Congress is a major event that focused on promoting innovation, sustainability, and digital transformation in urban environments. It brought together public and private sector leaders, technology providers, and experts to discuss and showcase solutions for building smarter, more efficient, and more livable cities.

The key themes were Smart Infrastructure, Urban mobility, Digital Transformation, Use of AI, IoT, Sustainability, Smart Sports, Agricultural and Green Technologies, Climate Resilience and Public-Private Partnerships among others.

The Congress served as a platform for networking, policy dialogue, and demonstration of cutting-edge smart city technologies that Kenya seeks to partner with Brazil in.
