On Monday, 25th August 2025, the Embassy, under the leadership of H.E. the Ambassador, convened a productive meeting with a delegation headed by Mr. José Lucas Dadalt, Senior Adviser to the Chief of Staff at the State of Goiás Secretariat for Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (SEAPA). The primary focus of the discussions was Kenya’s prospective participation in the forthcoming Goiás Genética Event, scheduled for 10th September 2025 in Goiás, Brazil.
The Goiás Genética Event is recognised as a premier platform in Latin America for presenting advancements in cattle breeding, genetics, and livestock management. This event brings together breeders, researchers, policymakers, and agribusiness stakeholders to explore opportunities within the global beef value chain.
Kenya’s participation is strategically significant, given the nation’s rapidly expanding beef market, fuelled by increased domestic consumption and growing demand within the East African Community (EAC) region. By engaging in this event, Kenya aims to strengthen partnerships that promote best practices in breeding, enhance productivity, and facilitate greater access to international markets.
Through its involvement in Goiás Genética, Kenya seeks to:
- Encourage the exchange of knowledge and expertise in livestock genetics and breeding technologies;
- Foster collaborative partnerships between Kenyan and Brazilian agribusiness entities;
- Highlight investment opportunities within Kenya’s livestock sector; and
- Deepen agricultural diplomacy between Kenya and Brazil, thereby contributing to broader Africa–Latin America cooperation.
The Embassy remains committed to working collaboratively with SEAPA, Brazilian institutions, and Kenyan stakeholders to ensure Kenya’s effective participation and representation at this important event.
