Delegation from the State Department for Trade makes a Courtesy Visit to the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Brasilia Chancery

A delegation of Government Officials from the State Department for Trade led by Mr. Patrick Mukuria made a courtesy visit to the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Brasilia during their official visit to Brazil.

The delegation was well received and held a meeting with the Embassy staff led by His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Andrew Karanja.

The Embassy made a presentation on the notable milestones and key achievements made in advancing commercial and economic relations with Brazil.

In his remarks, Mr. Mukuria acknowledged the key role the Embassy plays in facilitating linkages between Kenyan and Brazilian institutions towards cooperative partnerships that seek to advance buyer/seller linkages for increased export trade bto Brazil, attraction of Investment and technologies as well as strengthen economic cooperation.

H.E Ambassador Dr. Karanja also appreciated the support by the State Department for Trade through the Commercial and Economic Diplomatic Representation in Brazil which has contributed to a focused approach in market and product diversification towards increased trade. Notably, Kenyan exports to Brazil increased by 25% in 2025 amount to USD 1.5 million.

It was further noted that the partnership between the Embassy and the State Department for Trade will be instrumental in sustaining the momentum towards equilizing the balance of trade which is currently in favor of Brazil through supporting market access initiatives, strengthening institutional linkages, and promoting visibility of Kenyan export merchandise in the Brazilian market.
