
The Government announced that there will be a migration from the old manual passports to the new E-Passports with effect from 1st January, 2022. Consequently, the Manual passports will be rendered obsolete with effect from 31st December, 2021.
In order to renew/acquire the new E-Passports, please visit www.ecitizen.go.ke follow the instructions, and apply for the passport online. After successful completion of the application process, uploading of all the required documents, and making payment, you will be required to present yourself together will ALL the required documents, to any of the following Passport Issuance Centres in Kenya – Nairobi (Nyayo House), Kisumu, Mombasa, Kisii, Nakuru, Eldoret or Embu. You may also wish to present yourself to the following Kenyan Missions abroad that have been accredited to issue the ePassports – Johannesburg (South Africa), Berlin (Germany), London (UK), Paris (France, Washington DC (USA) and Dubai (UAE). It is important to NOTE that if you choose to travel to the Missions abroad, you will be required to have a valid visa and valid passport before travelling.
