For Kenyans needing to legalize Kenyan documents for use in Brazil
Procedure
- Documents issued in the Republic of Kenya must be certified by the issuing Authority in the Republic of Kenya. The certification process can be accessed at https://mfa.ecitizen.go.ke/
Please be advised that a Kenyan residing in Brazil may appoint a third party to facilitate this process.
- Following certification, the documents must be authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs (MFDA) at https://mfa.ecitizen.go.ke/
- Affixed with the MFDA Authentication Certificate to the original document, the Brazilian Embassy in Nairobi is authorized to perform the consular legalization of the document upon receipt of the designated consular fee.
- Kindly arrange an appointment to submit the document to the Embassy of the Federative Republic of Brazil in Nairobi through the e-Consular platform.
- Please note that Kenyan citizens residing in Brazil are required to appoint a trusted third party, including their name and a copy of their identity card, in the email scheduling the appointment. This procedure will also be followed during the collection process.
- The Embassy of the Republic of Kenya, Brasilia, is able to facilitate the transmission of the original documents to the designated third-party representative for presentation to the Embassy of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Nairobi, during the scheduled appointment.
- Kindly note that documents transmitted by the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya, Brasilia, should be collected at the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs headquarters by the designated third-party representative.
- Please be advised that payment for document legalization at the Brazilian Embassy in Nairobi is required before scheduling an appointment. Further information and payment instructions are available on payment of consular fees
