On 30th June 2026, the Embassy led by H.E Ambassador Dr. Andrew Karanja, Head of Mission convened a virtual meeting between the Brazilian Rural Society (Sociedade Rural Brasileira – SRB) and the Kenya National Farmers’ Federation (KENAFF).
Mr. Marcelo Junqueira, Vice-President of SRB led the Brazilian delegation while Ms. Magdaline Alukhava, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of KENAFF, headed the delegation on the Kenyan side. There were other several key organizations represented in the meeting including the State Department for Foreign Affairs, State Department for Trade, Kenya Agriculture and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO), Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service (KEPHIS) and the Kenya Tea Board.
The discussions focussed on exploring avenues for collaboration between the two institutions on technical exchanges, technology transfer, agricultural trade, experiential learning opportunities amongst other farmer-focused initiatives aimed at strengthening bilateral agricultural cooperation between Kenya and Brazil.
It is envisioned that continued bilateral engagements will be anchored on the shared principles and commitments of private-sector led growth for the overall benefit of the peoples as envisaged in the multilateral framework of South-South Cooperation.
