Led by H.E. Dr. Andrew Karanja, Head of Mission, the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Brasília on 21st May,2026, joined fellow African Missions, dignitaries, and invited guests at the official opening of the African Art Exhibition held on 21 May 2026 at the Câmara Legislativa do Distrito Federal. The exhibition celebrated Africa’s rich artistic heritage, cultural diversity, and the growing cultural cooperation between African countries and Brazil.
Kenya was highly commended for its leadership role as Chair of the Culture and Media Committee within the African Group in Brasília, particularly for its contribution towards the planning, coordination, and successful realization of the exhibition. The Embassy continued to advance African cultural diplomacy and strengthen collaboration among African Missions in Brazil.
The Embassy expresses its sincere appreciation to the Câmara Legislativa do Distrito Federal for hosting and supporting the exhibition, which provided an important platform for cultural exchange and engagement with the Brazilian public. The Embassy also thanks the Heads of Mission of the African Group, participating artists, partners, and organizers whose collective efforts contributed to the success of the event.
The African Art Exhibition reaffirmed the importance of culture and the creative arts as powerful tools for strengthening friendship, mutual understanding, and cooperation between Africa and Brazil. Kenya remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote African identity, creativity, and people-to-people relations internationally.
