Kenya Engages in a Strategic Trade Discussions with the President of Federal Council of Commercial Representatives (CONFERE) during an Official Visit to the Regional Council of Commercial Representatives of the State of São Paulo (CORE-SP) towards enhanced Foreign Trade with Brazil.

On 21st May 2026, Ms. Floice Mukabana, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency (KEPROBA) led a delegation of Kenyan Government Officials from the State Department for Trade, the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Brasilia and KEPROBA on an Institutional Visit to the Regional Council of Commercial Representatives of the State of São Paulo (CORE-SP) headquarters.

The delegation was received by the President of CORE-SP, Mr. Fábio Luiz Lofrano, who also facilitated the virtual participation of the President of the Federal Council of Commercial Representatives (CONFERE), Mr. Archimedes Cavalcanti Júnior.

In his remarks, the President of CONFERE underscored the important role played by over one (1) million commercial representatives across Brazil in driving the country’s economy through connecting industries, companies, exporters, and importers. He noted that the sector contributes approximately 20% of Brazil’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), reflecting its strategic importance in advancing trade and commercial activities.

During the discussions, it was highlighted that the engagement between Kenya and CORE-SP originated from interactions held during the APAS Show, where the possibility of establishing a collaborative partnership was first explored. The proposed cooperation aims to facilitate increased Kenyan exports to Brazil through commercial representatives who would play a central role in linking exporters with Brazilian importers and distributors.

Kenya expressed its commitment to scaling up exports of premium and value-added products to the Brazilian market, including specialty teas, macadamia nuts, gourmet coffee, textile dyes, and other high-potential products. The meeting further noted that leveraging KEPROBA’s Database of Exporters alongside CORE-SP’s Desk of Opportunities Portal would significantly strengthen buyer-seller linkages and improve market access for Kenyan exporters.

It was further confirmed that Kenya would be the first country to ever establish such a collaborative partnership between KEPROBA and CORE-SP, as a strategic path way towards deepening the Kenya-Brazil Foreign Trade and Commercial Cooperation.
