On 29th October 2025, a delegation from the Kenya Embassy in Brasília, led by Ambassador Peris Kariuki, Deputy Head of Mission, paid a courtesy visit to the Federal Institute of Goiano (IF Goiano) in Goiânia.
The Brazilian side was led by Prof. Luciano Carlos Ribeiro, Extension Rector of IF Goiano, and consisted of faculty members of IF Goiano, representatives from the Center of Excellence for BioInputs (CEBIO) and the Goiás State Research Foundation (FAPEG).
Discussions focused on developing technical partnerships between CEBIO and key Kenyan agricultural institutions, particularly in advancing technologies and strategies for sustainable agricultural production.
The meeting also explored opportunities for collaboration between Kenyan universities and IF Goiano to promote academic exchange, research partnerships, and greater access to tertiary education in Brazil, with support from FAPEG.
These initiatives are expected to contribute to the objectives of Kenya’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), by leveraging science, technology, and innovation for economic development within the framework of South–South Cooperation.
