Dr. Andrew Karanja, the Head of Mission. The discussion reaffirmed the enduring amicable relations between Kenya and Zambia, based on their shared membership in the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) and their mutual commitments to sustainable development.

Building on the momentum of diplomatic efforts, H.E. Dr. Visilios Philippou, Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to Brazil, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Amb. Dr. Andrew Karanja, the Head of Mission, on Friday, 24th October, 2025. The visit follows the recent opening of Cyprus’s High Commission in Nairobi in July 2025 and the signing of an MoU on Political and Diplomatic Consultations, signaling a new chapter of strengthened bilateral relations.

Amb. Dr. Karanja congratulates Cyprus on the European Union Presidency in 2026 and reaffirms Kenya’s anticipation of collaboration with Cyprus to enhance the Africa-EU Partnership, with particular attention to trade, investment, green transition, and youth empowerment.

Areas of discussion include trade and economic partnership, education and labor mobility, maritime issues, the blue economy, culture, and tourism.
The meeting underscored the Kenya Embassy in Brasília’s commitment to strengthening relations with African nations in support of Pan-Africanism, while also emphasizing cooperation with strategic partners such as the European Union, leveraging the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
