Ambassador Lemarron Kaanto, participated at the opening session of the Florianópolis International Trade Fair – FIN Brasil 2024 in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina State on 3rd April, 204. Ambassador Lemarron Kaanto made a country presentation on Kenya’s opportunities in Trade, Investment and Tourism among other sectors.
The Mission further presented the upcoming events inviting business executives to participate in the Brazil-Kenya Business Roundtable Webinar which took place on 4th April 2024.
Florianópolis is an island in the State of Santa Catarina that is referred to as the ‘Silicon Island’ due to the numerous technological hubs, innovative start ups and smart city concepts.
The State of Santa Catarina is highly industrious and imports numerous manufactured products and parts to the tune of USD 28 billion. Key import products include semi conductors, copper, iron and steel products, electrical equipment.
The Mission also made several industrial visits during the visit to Florianópolis, including Locks Industrial (road construction equipment), CS Amurel (housing and construction), Baly Energy Drinks Industries and the Goedert Group. The Mission also held meetings with the Federation of Industries of Santa Catarina (FIESC) and the Florianópolis Municipal Assembly.
